Introduction:

Pestle Weed College, Dehradun announces merit scholarship worth Rs.10 lacs for admission to classes VI, VII, XI Commerce & XI Science.
On completion of one decade in educational leadership, Pestle Weed College introduces a scholarship scheme namely “Kashyap Champawati Merit Scholarship Scheme” to help the deserving brilliant students to have access to quality education.

Amount and number of Scholarship:
Class Number of Scholarships Amount
VI 02 80% of the annual charges excluding   Boarding expenses, which amounts to Rs.31200/- per annum during first year at Pestle Weed College and gradually increases to Rs. 48,800/- when the child reaches class XII
VII 02 80% of the annual charges which amounts to Rs. 39,000/-, which gradually increases to Rs. 48,800/- when the child reaches class XII.
XI 03 (Commerce) 80% of the annual charges which amounts to  Rs. 48,800/-, till the student passes out class XII
XI 03 (Science) 80% of the annual charges which amounts to Rs. 48,800/-, till the student passes out class XII

Eligibility
  • All candidates securing at least 75% marks in aggregate in the preceding class are eligible. Everything being equal, the preference will be given to the candidates belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
     
  • The child should have studied in the preceding class in any recognized institution affiliated with the C.B.S.E \ I.C.S.E. or any State Board or approved by the local education authorities e.g. Municipality / Corporation / Dist. Education Authorities
     
  • The child should be within the prescribed age limits. The age for admission for class VI may be between 10 to 13 years as on 01 April of the year in which the admission is sought and so on for other classes.

  • The scholarship is meant for both the male and female Indian Citizens. In case of NRIs, the amount of scholarship may be limited to only 25% of the annual charges excluding the boarding expenses

Period of Scholarship

      Once the scholarship has been sanctioned to any new entrant in any class it would continue till the child passes out class XII from Pestle Weed College. It will be discontinued if the child fails to achieve at least 75% marks in aggregate in any class or the child leaves Pestle Weed College for any reason. The scholarship is further subject to exhibiting good behaviour and conforming to the school norms and discipline. Once the scholarship is discontinued for any reasons, it would not be granted again to the same child.

Two members of the Board of Governors, P.W.C. to be nominated by Chairman, Board Of Governors.

Residual Matters:
          The Principal, Pestle Weed College, Dehradun, will be the sole arbitrator in case of any dispute in the selection of candidates, by the members of selection committee or in disposal of any representation in this regard.

Admission Test:
       The admission test for the grant of above scholarship to the candidates seeking admission in Pestle Weed College, for the session 2002-2003, will be held at Pestle Weed College, Oak Hill Estate, Mussoorie Diversion Road, Dehra Dun, as per details given below

The content matter of the test in all the subjects will be the courses of the preceding class of C.B.S.E. affiliated schools. The medium of examination will be English. In General Knowledge, only the questions of Multiple  choice type having four options including one correct response will be asked. While in other subjects it may need comprehensive answers.
