Dehradun 13 Nov 2011: Pestle Weed College celebrated its Annual Sports Day on November 13th with pomp & grandeur. Shri. K.R. Arya Hon’ble Member Public Service Commission, Uttarakhand was the chief Guest on this auspicious occasion. In his address he appreciated the students & congratulated the efforts of the Management for the opportunities provided to the students.

Shri Prem Kashyap, Principal Pestle Weed College, welcomed & introduced the Chief Guest Shri K.R. Arya to the congregation present. He advised the parents to inculcate a strong value system in every child. Early in the Day Alumni Basket ball Team played against the present team in which the present team of PWC proved their talent proclaiming “Practice Makes Man Perfect”, and lifted the trophy.

The afternoon brought the most exciting Annual Athletic Meet of Children’s Academy Association. The Meet commenced with Cycle Race for senior participants. The Students cheered the Athletes of their respective schools & their enthusiasm was evident. The Guests were mesmerized by the coordination of the students in their fields. The program started with the Introduction of the Chief Guest. Then the students showcased their skills in various events. Students were awarded for their excellence. Aryan Sethi & Saurabh Mehta of PWC were awarded for the best performance in Gymnastics. Naseem & Mayank Mishra were awarded for being the most efficient Riders. Events were conducted by different sections on the name of Individual Championship among three schools named Pestle Weed College, Children’s Academy & Kay Cee Public School. Section a & F Trophy were bagged by KAY CEE Public School whereas section C, E, & G Trophy were won by Children’s Academy School. Students of Pestle Weed College won the section B, D & H Trophy by showing their excellence.

Parents were amazed by the skills & co-ordination of the students while presenting Calisthenics. The gathered spectators were treated to a visual display of the Mizo Dance by the girls. The competition also comprised of the equestrian performances followed by synchronized march past.

Vice Principal Mr Jatin Sethi proposed vote of thanks to the Chief Guest Shri K.R. Arya Member UPSC, Shri Vinod Sharma, Member Planning Commission, Mrs Neelam Sehgal, Vice Chair person – Child Development, Board of Governors, Guests, Parents , Students, Media Persons & staff.

On the occasion a large number of parents left the field with full contentment & satisfaction impressed by the colorful fire works.
